An elementary school in Winnipeg's West End was locked down briefly as police surrounded a nearby house where a man was believed to have a gun.
Officers were called to the home on Beverley Street, between Wellington Avenue and Sargent Avenue, just before 9 a.m. The residence is two houses from the corner of the Wellington School playground.
The school has students from nursery age to Grade 6.
Several police cruisers blocked off roads in the area as officers notified people in neighbouring residences to stay inside. Those who needed to leave were given a police escort to a safe distance.
The incident ended around 9:45 a.m. after three individuals walked out of the house with their hands in the air.
No gun was found at the scene.
Police have not yet released any information on the individuals or any possible charges.
