Man in custody after stabbing

A suspect is in custody after a man was stabbed in the upper body in Winnipeg and taken to hospital.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. inside a house in the 800 block of Alverstone, in the West End.

The victim, in his 40s, was later upgraded to stable condition, police said.

Charges are pending against the man in custody.
