Police treating incident as homicide investigation

Last Updated: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 | 12:42 PM CT

A body was discovered on the Sioux Valley First Nation in Manitoba early Tuesday morning.

There have been reports the person is the victim of a shooting, but the Dakota Ojibway Police have not confirmed that.

A police spokesperson would only say that officers are investigating the discovery of the body and treating it as a homicide.

Police plan to release more details later Tuesday.

Sioux Valley First Nation is approximately 45 kilometres west of Brandon.
