Liberal Leader Gordon Campbell has been re-elected in his home riding of Vancouver-Point Grey, CBC News projects.
With 63 of 142 polls reporting, Campbell had over 50 per cent of the vote. New Democratic Party candidate Mel Lehan ran a close second, capturing close to 39 per cent of the ballots.
Stephen Kronstein of the Green party was third, with about nine per cent of the vote.
John Ince of the fringe Sex party won less than one per cent of the popular vote to finish fourth.
Campbell first entered provincial politics in 1993 when he won the leadership of the provincial Liberal party, which was the official opposition to Mike Harcourt's NDP government. The B.C. Liberal Party is not affiliated with Liberal parties in the rest of the country.
Campbell was elected mayor of Vancouver three times, serving from 1986 to 1993.
