Liberals, NDP split 10 northern Interior ridings

The B.C. Liberals and the NDP have evenly split the ten ridings in B.C.'s northern Interior.
In Nechako Lakes, B.C. Liberal John Rustad took over 50 per of the vote, while New Democrat Byron Robert Goerz followed at about 35 per cent; the Green party's Gerard Michael Riley trailed at about five per cent.
In Peace-River North, Liberal Pat Pimm took about 45 per cent of the vote. Independent Arthur A. Hadland followed with just over 30 per cent, New Democrat Jackie Allen got about 15 per cent and the Green party's Liz Logan got about 10 per cent of the vote.
In 2008, long-time MLA Richard Neufeld, of the Social Credit Party, the Reform Party and the Liberal party, resigned after being appointed to the Senate.
In Peace River South, incumbent Liberal MLA and cabinet minister Blair Lekstrom scored about 60 per cent of the vote.
New Democrat Pat Shaw trailed with just under 30 per cent and the Green party's Grant Fraser with under 10 per cent of the vote.
In the North Coast, NDP incumbent Gary Coons took over 50 per cent of the vote. Liberal Herb Pond followed with just under 40 per cent, and the Green party's Lisa Girbav with under 10 per cent.
In Prince George-Mackenzie, Liberal incumbent and cabinet minister Pat Bell took just under 60 per cent of the vote. New Democrat Tobias Lawrence trailed with just over 35 per cent, and Green hopeful Kevin Creamore drew just under 10 per cent.
In Prince George-Valemount, Liberal incumbent and cabinet minister Shirley Bond won with just over 50 per cent of the vote.
New Democrat Julie Carew followed with just under 40 per cent, while Green candidate Andrej Joseph DeWolf took just over five per cent; Conservative Gordon Wilfred Dickie took just under five per cent.
In Skeena, New Democrat incumbent Robin Austin took 50 per cent of the vote. Liberal Donny Van Dyk trailed with just under 40 per cent, while Conservative Mike Brousseau took just under ten per cent and Green Anita Norman got just under five per cent.
In Stikine, New Democrat Doug Donaldson took riding with about 50 per cent, followed closely by Liberal Scott Groves with just over 45 per cent.
Green Roger Benham took just under five per cent of the vote.
