Debate Club

Well last night's debate may have been exciting for some, a snoozer for others but for me, it was one busy night!

We here at cbc.ca/bc decided to try out something new. We wanted to LIVE blog during the leaders debate.
Going into this, we had no idea if this was going to work or even be successful.
But now that it's over, I can confidently say it was a success!

Along with myself, my Senior Producer, and the help of some awesome interns I was able to keep the conversation around the debate going. I asked you to keep it clean, short and avoid the partisan rants. Well hats off to you for following the rules!

Secondly, we enlisted the help of BC political historian David Mitchell. He took questions from the online audience and gave us some of his thoughts on what he heard from the leaders.

So what stood out for those of you blogging with us during the debate?

You thought Gordon Campbell came across as nervous...
"Mr. Campbell looks a little desperate and getting caught on his words... "(Montag451)

While Carole James was on the attack...
"I still don't know where the NDP stands. All I heard was Gordon Campbell this and Gordon Campbell that."(Charles Jackson)

And finally you thought Jane Sterk was simply being ignored...
"Why don't James or Campbell ever respond to Sterk's points? Pretending this is a two-horse race is disingenuous." (Devon)

So did the debate help you make a decision on who to vote for?

Here's how one poster put it.

"I must say this debate is not changing my mind at all. And I was actually open to the concept." (Percy)

So my question is, did the leaders do their job on debate night? Or did they fail miserably?
What do you think?
