The Conservative party has elected the first candidate in Alberta's provincial election, CBC news is projecting.
With just over 10 per cent of the votes, Ray Danyluk has taken the riding of Lac La Biche-St. Paul with 72 per cent of the votes, over her next closest rival, Liberal Alex Broadbent with 16 per cent of the votes.
The riding, in rural Alberta, has been represented by Danyluk since 2001, who has also been a minister in Ed Stelmach's cabinet.
