CBC Calgary

Do Crew mission:

LITTLE FREE LIBRARY BUILD

Cheri2.jpg

When: Saturday May 5th, 2012

Where: CBC Calgary 1724 Westmount Blvd NW

Time: 1 - 4pm

This is a library that Calgarian Cheri Macaulay built for the www.3thingsforcalgary.ca campaign.  It's proudly displayed in her front yard in Brentwood.

That's the inspiration for our next Do Crew mission - we're going to build 5 of these libraries.  Then we're going to auction them off at the 2012 CBC Calgary Reads Book Sale in May

I'm looking for volunteers to help build and decorate the little libraries here at CBC. The basic structure will be provided (wood & plexiglass) but any extra supplies you could bring along would be greatly appreciated.

A big thank you to Totem Bowness for donating the wood & plexi and to Lowes Sunridge for cutting all of the pieces for us!

Some of the items we need:

colourful exterior paint / chalkboard paint

brushes

wood glue

hammers

nails

decorative touches for the boxes.  Just remember the libraries are outside so anything we use must be able to stand up to Mother Nature.

and for the Book Sale

Hope you can make it. Don't forget to wear your painting attire - it might get messy.
