CBC Calgary Reads Book Sale raised a record $130,000!
Thanks Calgary for supporting the 9th annual CBC Calgary Reads Book Sale. You helped us raise a record $130,000 which will be used to provide literacy programs for children in Calgary and surrounding areas.
From Friday, May 13th to Sunday, May 15th, more than 6,000 people attended the sale at the Calgary Curling Club; taking advantage of low prices to stock up on their reading material - whether it was children's, philosophy, business, How To, beach paperbacks or hard-cover Art tomes; there was a book for just about every taste.
CBC Calgary and Calgary Reads thank everyone who donated books, volunteered or contributed in any way to the success of the event. We couldn't have done it without your help. Here are some photos of the sale.
