Lire et faire lire: Intergenerational reading across Quebec
Lire et faire lire is a province-wide program that promotes intergenerational reading, en français. Based on a model in France, it matches volunteers, age 55-plus, with children between 4 and 8 years-old, and once a week they meet for an hour -- book in-hand. At the International Conference on Age-Friendly Cities, which continues in Quebec City, our Rachelle Solomon met with volunteer reader and the president of Lire et faire lire, Colette Parayre.
