The MV Apollo (pictured left) regularly services passengers crossing from Corner Brook, Newfoundland to Quebec's Lower North Shore. But heavy ice had prevented the ferry from crossing, since January 2. This left many frustrated passengers stranded in Corner Brook, not to mention suppliers running out of fresh food supplies.
