The Sharman family sugar shack in Hatley
As the weather flip-flops between spring-like and very white and wintery, our Rachelle Solomon visited a family sugar shack in Hatley where they're waiting for the sap to flow. Alan Sharman and his friend and sugar camp helper, Gary Drew, are waiting to tap trees on the 70 acre property. They talked about the process of turning sap into syrup and the tradition of sugaring off in the Eastern Townships.
