Proposing a ban on shark fins in Quebec
An online petition to outlaw the sale and possession of shark fins in Quebec has just hit 3,000 signatures. Shark scientist Jeffrey Gallant, who works with Greenland sharks in the Saguenay and St-Lawrence Rivers, is behind the project. He joined Jacquie to talk about wanting this province to be the first in Canada to stop the importation of shark fins obtained through "finning," a practice that involves cutting off the shark's fin and casting the rest of the body back into the sea.
