The mind needs books like the body needs food. And often, as with food, one serving just isn't enough! To celebrate its 2013 nominees, the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction has teamed up with Loblaws and CBC Books to ask you to cook up your own perfect nonfiction literary feast: a three-course "meal" of your favourite personal narratives, memoirs, biographies, essay collections, history and other forms of nonfiction.
Maybe your nonfiction literary feast is themed (i.e., True Love, Brain Food, The Big Game), or maybe it's the books you always find yourself craving (i.e. Adventures in Solitude by Grant Lawrence for dessert). Whatever your kind of feast, share it with us below and explain why you chose these titles. Perhaps others will be tempted to try your menu.
Everyone who submits a menu will be entered in a random draw. For the next four weeks, we're giving away a weekly prize of a $100 President's Choice gift card (you can search for a Loblaw Companies store closest to you here). We're also giving away a special grand prize of a $100 President's Choice gift card AND an Apple iPad Mini, courtesy of the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction.
Entries will be accepted starting 9 a.m. ET on Monday, September 16, until 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, October 11. Full contest rules are available here.
NOTE: Contest now closed. Thank you to everyone who entered! The winners have been contacted.
