Eden Robinson, David Chariandy among 2018 BC Book Prize finalists

The West Coast Book Prize Society announces finalists for the 34th Annual BC Book Prizes in seven categories.

The West Coast Book Prize Society announced its finalists for the 34th Annual BC Book Prizes this week. Among the shortlisted are the coming-of-age novels Brother by David Chariandy and Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson.

The seven categories, which honour books by B.C. writers and publishers, include best fiction, non-fiction, regional work highlighting British Columbia, poetry, illustrated children's literature, non-illustrated children's literature and booksellers' choice, awarded for public appeal, initiative and overall design and content.

The winners in the seven categories will be announced at the Lieutenant Governor's BC Book Prizes Gala on May 4, 2018 in Vancouver.
