Manitoba: famous for the polar bears in Churchill and the mosquitoes in Komarno, this Prairie province is also quickly becoming famous for producing some of Canada's most exciting contemporary food.

To help get the conversation rolling, Manitoba Scene host Ismaila Alfa brought together a panel of Manitobans who are passionate about their food.

Mike Green is a food-obsessed journalist with years of experience as a bartender and cook. For his graduate thesis he filmed a documentary on wild mushroom foraging in British Columbia. He currently works as an Associate Producer at CBC Winnipeg where he contributes a segment on culinary trends for The Weekend Morning Show.

Karen Peters is the owner of Arkadash Bistro and Lounge, a restuarant that uses local ingredients to produce Mediterranean recipes.
