CBC Books Poetry Month Contest -- rules and regulations1. TO ENTER
To
enter the CBC Books Poetry Month contest, leave a comment on this post. Three winners will be chosen by a
random draw. To be valid, all entries must be received by 11:49 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
2. ELIGIBILITY
The contest is
open to all Canadian citizens or permanent residents. You are allowed to
submit one entry per person. Employees of CBC and their affiliates, as
well as their immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister,
son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof, are not eligible to
enter this contest as contestants.
3. PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZES
The
winners will be drawn randomly by the CBC Books team. The winner will
be contacted by telephone or email during the week following the contest
deadline and should accept the prize as instructed by CBC by no later
than five (5) days after the date of initial contact. If the prize is
not claimed within this period, a new winner will be chosen.
4. DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE(S)
There will be three winners: one grand prize winner and two runner-ups. The grand prize winner will receive
- One (1) Sony e-Reader
- One set of three (3) poetry books
The approximate value of this prize is $200 CDN.
The two (2) runner-ups will receive:

5. GENERAL RULES
5.1 To be declared a winner, the entrant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.
5.2
The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged for an
amount of money, nor sold nor transferred. No substitutions will be
allowed.
5.3 If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these
rules, CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors,
officers and employees, reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize
component with another of comparable value.
5.4 Refusal to
accept the prize releases CBC, their affiliates, as well as their
respective directors, officers and employees, of any obligation toward
the winner.
5.5 CBC, their affiliates, as well as their
respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability
resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or email
received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone
malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to
software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake.
5.6
CBC, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers
and employees, shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in
which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond
their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute
at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses
whose services are used to hold this contest.
5.7 All personal
information, such as name, address, telephone number, email address and
age, is collected solely for the purposes of administering this contest
and shall not be used for any other purpose without contestants'
consent. By providing this information, contestants consent to it being
used for the stated purposes.
5.8 By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules which shall be applied by the CBC. All its decisions are final.
