The CBC Literary Prizes are the flagship competitions of Canada Writes. Formerly the CBC Literary Awards, the CBC Literary Prizes, in partnership with Canada Council for the Arts, enRoute magazine and the Banff Centre are made up of three separate competitions that take place throughout the year.
The CBC Literary Prizes recognize the best in original, unpublished writing by Canadians. First prize is $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts. The winning text will be published in Air Canada’s enRoute magazine and on the Canada Writes website. Winners will also receive a 2-week writing residency at The Banff Centre (details about the residency here).
Four runner-ups will each receive $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and will have their text published on the Canada Writes website.
