The Shakespeare Selfie Challenge is closed

Friends, Romans, countrymen: we've come to the end of the submission period for the Shakespeare Selfie Challenge.

shakespeare-selfie.jpgWe are floored with the response to this challenge. We've received hundreds of superb, creative and thought-provoking modern-day soliloquies and monologues. And now, the decision-making process is in the hands of our esteemed judges.

MEET THE JUDGES

Our judge for the youth category (12-18) of the challenge is Canadian YA author Eric Walters, who's written over 80 bestselling young-adult and children's books. Read Eric's thoughts on Shakespeare.

Zentner headshot small.jpegGovernor General's Literary Award finalist Alexi Zentner is our judge for the adult category (19+). His latest book, The Lobster Kings, is a modern-day riff on "King Lear" told by Cordelia Kings, the heiress of her family's lobster-fishing business. Read Alexi's thoughts on Shakespeare.

We'll be announcing Eric and Alexi's picks for the winners of the Shakespeare Selfie challenge sometime late next week. Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get all the updates!

We'd also like to take a moment to give everyone who participated a huge "thank you" and a virtual pat on the back. We are so amazed at your creative minds, quick wits and way with words. THANK YOU!
