"Shakespeare High": Celebrating Shakespeare's 450th birthday with new young-adult fiction

To coincide with William Shakespeare's 450th birthday, Canada Writes is proud to present an exclusive series of new, original young-adult fiction by leading Canadian authors—all inspired by the Bard.

We're pleased to introduce you to "Shakespeare High"—class of 2014. Each story takes a different Shakespearean character and situates him or her in the present day, recasting him or her in contemporary YA fiction—from a reluctant Petruchio ("Pete") on a blind double date to a depressed Ophelia chatting with a telemarketer.
