To enter the Canada Reads Predict the Final Five contest, you must submit your selection of the five books you think will be the final titles debated on the Canada Reads 2011 show. All correct entries will be entered into a random draw. Use this form to submit your entry. The timeline in which to submit entries will be from November 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. ET to November 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Contestants must complete the official entry form available at the event, and provide their name, full postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and proof of age (18+).

Limit of one entry per person.

Entry forms become the property of CBC and will not be returned to contestants. No purchase required.


Contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entering the contest. Employees of CBC, as well as their immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to enter this contest.


A random draw from all the correct entries will be conducted by the host (Jian Ghomeshi) during the Canada Reads 2011 Live Launch event at CBC Toronto on the day of November 24, 2010. The winner will be contacted and must correctly answer the mandatory question to be declared the winner, subject to responding all the conditions described in these rules.

The winner will be informed by the end of the business day on November 24, and should claim his/her prize as instructed by CBC by no later than five (5) days after the date they were initially informed.


The winner will be invited to attend a taping of CBC Radio One's Canada Reads in the Glen Gould Theatre in the Broadcast Centre in Toronto, Ontario, during the morning of February 9, 2011. They will be present during the show's live taping that day, will be given front-row seats to the taping and will be introduced to Jian Ghomeshi and the Canada Reads 2011 panelists.

The winner will receive a trip for two (2) to Toronto, including:

1) return economy airfares or approrpiate transporation for two (2) people;

2) accommodations for 2 days and nights (double occupancy).

The prize includes only what is specifically described and no other allowance will be granted. The winner and his/her travel companion will have to pay all expenses including, but not limited to:

1) meals and beverages;

2) transportation costs, including round-trip transfers between the winner's residence and the airport and/or the airport and hotel;

3) travel insurance (cancellation, medical, etc.);

4) gratuities, tips, taxes of any kind;

5) personal expenses.

The winner and his/her travel companion, if applicable, are responsible for obtaining a valid passport and/or other required travel documentation at their own expense. If the winner and his/her travel companion are unable to travel because they lack proper documentation, the prize will be forfeited without compensation, and a new draw may be held (OR a new prize awarded).

The winner must be available to travel to Toronto and be in studio at the Broadcast Centre on February 9, 2011. If the winner is unable to travel for that designated date, the prize will be forfeited without compensation.


Two economy flights or equivalent transportation, value approximately $1,500.00 CDN

Two nights of hotel accommodation (Intercontinental Hotel, Front St., Toronto, Ontario), value approximately $400.00 CDN

To a maximum of $3,000.00 CDN


5.1 To be declared a winner, the contestant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.

5.2 Winners, as well as the people accompanying them, shall agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture, including their photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this contest, free of charge.

5.3 Winners shall sign a document attesting to their eligibility as stipulated in paragraph 2 of these rules and releasing CBC from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in this contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.

Anyone accompanying the winner in connection with the prize CBC Canada Reads prize shall sign a document releasing CBC from all liability for any damage or loss arising from use of the prize.

5.4 The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged for an amount of money, nor sold nor transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.

5.5 If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, CBC reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value. 5.6 Refusal to accept the prize releases CBC of any obligation toward the winner.

5.7 Should winners make any false statement, they shall be automatically disqualified from the contest.

5.8 CBC shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake.

5.9 CBC shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to hold this contest.

5.10 All personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering this contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes.

5.11 By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules, which shall be applied by the CBC. All its decisions are final.
