One of Canada's most recognizable actors, with numerous television, film and stage credits, Lorne Cardinal is best known for his role as police officer Davis Quinton on the hit TV series Corner Gas. The role garnered him (and the rest of the cast) a Gemini Award for ensemble acting in 2007.
Lorne has appeared on such television shows as Lonesome Dove, Blackfly, Renegade Press, Moccasin Flats, Relic Hunter and in the TV movie North of 60: Distant Drumming. He has also starred in a number of feature films, including Insomnia (2002) and Disney's Flicka 2 (2010), and has worked with such Hollywood A-list actors as Hilary Swank, Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon.
In addition to his work in front of the camera, Lorne is a director for both stage and TV, and has hosted many comedy specials and award shows, such as the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards.
He is currently appearing in the Persephone Theatre's production of the play Thunderstick, which is touring western Canada. He also has a TV pilot called Wolf Canyon in the works.
Lorne Cardinal is a native of Sucker Creek First Nations in Alberta. He graduated with a B.F.A. in acting from the University of Alberta and now makes his home in Squamish, B.C.
