How to attend the Canada Reads 2011 debates

Thank you for your interest in attending the 10th anniversary edition of Canada Reads. The live debates, hosted by Jian Ghomeshi of CBC Radio's Q, will be held at the CBC's Canadian Broadcast Centre in Toronto.

The celebrity panelists taking part in this year's battle of the books are actor Lorne Cardinal (Corner Gas), former NHL enforcer and activist Georges Laraque, indie music darling Sara Quin from Tegan & Sara, designer and TV personality Debbie Travis and CNN broadcaster Ali Velshi.

There will be three live shows at which you can be an audience member. They will take place on February 7, 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the 10th floor studios of the Broadcast Centre, located at 250 Front Street West in Toronto.

Please note that due to high demand, there is a reservation limit of two seats per person. If you would like to reserve seats, please email canadareads@cbc.ca. Please specify "Canada Reads Tickets" and the date for which you are requesting them in the subject headline. In the body of the email, tell us how many seats you want, which day(s) you want them for, the names of the people they are reserved for, and include contact information (phone number and email address).

Please note, this event will be recorded for TV and/or the web, in addition to radio. By attending the event, you are granting CBC the right to air your image on TV and on the web. If you are not comfortable with being filmed or photographed, please identify yourself to event staff upon entry.

This will be a closed set, and attendance will commit you to the studio for 1-2 hours with no in-and-outs once doors are closed at 9:30 a.m.

We will post a notice on this site when tickets are no longer available.
