Supermodel Stacey McKenzie had to claw her way to the top of the fashion industry. She's no stranger to hard work and perseverance and plans to use what she learned from walking the runways when she defends her book during the Canada Reads debate in February.

Stacey is defending On a Cold Road: Tales of Adventure in Canadian Rock by Dave Bidini, which chronicles the Rheostatics' 1996 tour with The Tragically Hip. His diary from that tour eventually became this book. It's also filled with stories from other Canadian rock stars, including Randy Bachman, "Rompin'" Ronnie Hawkins, Trooper's Ra McGuire and many more.
While the book takes place in the Canadian rock scene, Stacey believes it should appeal to all kinds of readers. "It's very inspirational," she says. "It relates to all different kinds of people, if you have a dream."
Stacey plans to get the inside scoop about her book and about how to succeed in Canada Reads from her author — and former Canada Reads champion — Dave Bidini. Bidini won Canada Reads in 2008, when he defended King Leary by Paul Quarrington.
Stacey also has a secret weapon up her sleeve, one only a supermodel would think of. Want to know what it is? Watch the video below to find out!
