Meet actor Lorne Cardinal

Last week, we visited Essex County by Jeff Lemire. This week, we move from the country to the suburbs as we explore Carol Shields's Unless, which will be defended by actor Lorne Cardinal.

One of Canada's most recognizable actors, with numerous television, film and stage credits, Lorne is best known for his role as police officer Davis Quinton on the hit TV series Corner Gas, which aired from 2004 to 2009. The role garnered him (and the rest of the cast) a Gemini Award for ensemble acting in 2007.

Lorne has also appeared on such television shows as Lonesome Dove, Blackfly, Renegade Press, Moccasin Flats, Relic Hunter and in the TV movie North of 60: Distant Drumming. He has also starred in a number of feature films, including Insomnia (2002) and Disney's Flicka 2 (2010), and has worked with such Hollywood A-list actors as Hilary Swank, Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon.

We talked to Lorne about why he chose Unless, how he'll prep for the debates and more!
