Listen to Fresh Air's Canada Reads panel

Mary ItoOn Sunday, January 23, Mary Ito of Fresh Air talked to two of the biggest Canada Reads fans around.

Mark Lefebvre is the manager of Titles Bookstore at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Mark is not only a Canada Reads fan, he's a long-time supporter of Canada Reads 2011 novelist and McMaster alum Terry Fallis, who wrote The Best Laid Plans.

Jen Knoch is the primary book blogger at the Keepin' It Real Book Club and the brains behind the Canada Reads unofficial offshoot Civilians Read. Instead of celebrity panelists, Jen brings together five regular readers to discuss the books in contention.

The twosome joined Mary in the studio to talk about the Canada Reads effect, what draws them to the competition and what makes Canadian literature so special.
