Sara Quin and Jeff Lemire on Canada Reads launch day

We'll be rolling out lots of exciting Canada Reads material in the weeks to come. But this holiday week, as the end of the year approaches, we're taking the opportunity to revisit some highlights.

On November 24, this year's Canada Reads books and panelists were announced to the world. After revealing the line-up on air on Q, Jian Ghomeshi hosted a live launch event in the atrium of the CBC building in downtown Toronto featuring all the players.

If you didn't catch the videos of the event when they were first posted, here's your chance. And if you've taken a peek at them before, we hope you'll find more to enjoy in this encore viewing.

The first panelist to be revealed was Sara Quin, one-half of the international indie music sensations Tegan & Sara, and her choice, Essex County by Jeff Lemire!

Can't wait to read Essex County and the rest of the Canada Reads books? We've got an exciting contest for a chance to win the complete Canada Reads prize pack! Tune into CBC Radio One all week and listen for Sara reading from Essex County for your chance to win. You can find complete contest details here!

Sara Quin is defending Essex County in this year's Canada Reads debates, which will air on CBC Radio One on February 7, 8 and 9 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. (2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in Newfoundland).
