Georges Laraque and Angie Abdou on Canada Reads launch day

Lots of great Canada Reads material is still to come in the New Year. But this holiday week, we're taking a look back at some video highlights of the campaign. We hope you enjoy this encore viewing!

On November 24, Jian Ghomeshi hosted the live Canada Reads launch at the CBC building in downtown Toronto. Each panelist stepped up to the stage and declared themselves ready to battle for their book of choice.

The second panelist to be revealed was former NHL enforcer and current deputy leader of the Green Party of Canada, Georges Laraque. Georges is putting his defensive skills to work for The Bone Cage by Angie Abdou.

Can't wait to read The Bone Cage and the rest of the Canada Reads books? We've got an exciting contest for a chance to win the complete Canada Reads prize pack! Tune into CBC Radio One all week and listen for Goerges reading from The Bone Cage for your chance to win. You can find complete contest details here!

Georges Laraque is defending The Bone Cage in this year's Canada Reads debates, which will air on CBC Radio One on February 7, 8 and 9 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. (2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in Newfoundland).
