Clara Hughes

Six-time Olympic medallist Clara Hughes is the only athlete to win multiple medals at both the Summer and Winter Games. She is known for her humanitarian work, and in 2014 was awarded the Meritorious Service Cross in recognition of her commitment. Hughes is the national spokesperson for the Bell Let's Talk initiative, where she has shared her past struggles with depression to help break down the stigma associated with mental illness. The Winnipeg native and Canmore, Alberta, resident is an officer of the Order of Canada and has been inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. Her memoir, Open Heart, Open Mind, was published in 2015.
