The next winner of the CBC Poetry Prize will be found among this list of 25 poets, which includes children's author MJ Matheson, filmmaker Michelle Elrick and novelist Laisha Rosnau.

The longlist was selected by a team of readers, all published Canadian poets: John Barton, Wayde Compton, Marilyn Dumont, Jeff Latosik, Lisa Pasold, Damian Rogers, Talya Rubin, Greg Santos, Nilofar Shidmehr and Ian Williams.

The jury, which consists of Karen Solie, Fred Wah and Shane Book, will select the four finalists and the grand prize winner. The shortlist will be announced on November 17 and the grand prize winner will be revealed on November 24. The winning author will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine and a 10-day writing residency at The Banff Centre.
