Richard Wagamese, Jane Eaton Hamilton among 2015 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize longlist

The next winner of the CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize will be found among this list of 30 writers, which includes Indian Horse novelist Richard Wagamese, short story writer Jane Eaton Hamilton, and a previous CBC Short Story Prize finalist, Trevor Corkum.

The longlist was selected by a team of readers: Jennifer Kingsley, Chris Gatchalian, Eve Joseph, Maurice Mierau, Alison Wearing, David Balzer, Balwant Bhaneja, Evelyn Lau, Marjorie Doyle and Aritha Van Herk.

The the jury, which consists of Kamal Al-Solaylee, Michael Harris and Merrily Weisbord will select the five finalists and the grand prize winner. The shortlist will be announced on September 14, The grand prize winner will be revealed on September 21. The winning author will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada's enRoute magazine, and a two week writing residency at The Banff Centre.
