What is the one book to break barriers? That's the question host Wab Kinew will be asking for the 14th edition of CBC's battle of the books. Canada Reads 2015 is all about books that can change perspectives, challenge stereotypes and illuminate issues.
We're looking for books that will help us understand and overcome the things that divide us, in families, in and between communities, and at large. This year, we're considering both fiction (novels) and nonfiction (works with one book-length narrative). And we'd like your help in finding those books.
If you have a suggestion, submit it via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or email. Be sure to use the hashtag #CanadaReads so we can track your suggestions. Check out all the submissions here. The deadline for the public call-out is Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The Canada Reads team will take these suggestions into consideration to come up with a shortlist of three books for each of the five panelists. We'll announce that list of 15 titles in December.
The five finalists and their champions will be announced on January 20, 2015.
The Canada Reads 2015 shows will take place March 16-19, 2015.
