The Association for Art and Social Change is launching a new inaugural award for self-published Canadian authors.
The first Creation of Stories: Canada's Self-Publishing Awards
will be presented at the INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair on Nov. 16. Sponsored by indie-publishing company Blurb Inc., there will three categories: Books for an adult audience (ages 19 and up), books for young adult audiences (ages 12 to 18), and book for children (ages 0 to 11).
The winner of each category will receive $3,000. One people's choice award of $1,000 will also be presented. The winners will also receive a marketing campaign designed by Blurb for their book and a trip to the INSPIRE! festival.
Canadian authors that have self-published works between July 1, 2013 and Sept. 1, 2014 are eligible for entry. You can submit your self-published book through the AASC's website
