Are real-life thrillers more up your alley? If so, Flash Boys is a must-read. A nice Canadian kid uncovered what appears to be a stock market scam - high-frequency trading - and decided to do something about it. And he may have changed the stock market forever. Despite the complex subject matter, Flash Boys is accessible and riveting.

"The workers were told only what they needed to know. They tunneled into small groups, apart from each other, with only a local sense of where the line was coming from or where it was going to. They were specifically not told the line's purpose -- to make sure they didn't reveal that purpose to others."
