Harry Potter's new makeover

New-Harry-Potter-320.jpgPublishing house Bloomsbury has announced that J.K. Rowling's iconic Harry Potter series will be given an illustrated makeover featuring the artwork of award-winning illustrator Jim Kay.

The fully-illustrated editions are slated for release starting in September 2015 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the Guardian reports. Bloomsbury is looking to release subsequent titles annually.

The publisher shared a couple images of Kay's interpretation of the boy wizard and his beloved magical boarding school Hogwarts.

Kay won the Kate Greenaway Medal for his work on the 2011 children's fantasy novel A Monster Calls.

The illustrator has described this project as "the commission of a lifetime," which has inspired him to feel a mix of delight and "brain-freezing terror."

"The story is everything. And so I want to bring what I can to really show the depth of Rowling's stories, to their best."
