On Sunday, the world received the sad news that legendary musician Lou Reed had passed away. Reed was best known for his work with The Velvet Underground, one of the most influential bands in the American punk movement of the 1960s. Reed went on to release solo albums through the '70s, '80s, '90s and right up until 2011 when he released an album with Metallica. He was often referred to as a "punk poet" and his lyrics were celebrated for their literary prowess. Here's a sample of some of his best lyrics.
