CBC is filled with book lovers -- and not just the folks at CBC Books! There are lots of CBC summer reading lists making the rounds, so we thought we should round them all up in one handy dandy place.
Our annual summer reading list included CanLit newcomers like Saleema Naweez's novel Bone & Bread and buzzed-about beachy reads like Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. Check out all 10 picks here.
Jian Ghomeshi has interviewed plenty of provocative authors and the Q crew chose 12 books from their roster of interviews this past season to make a reading list perfect for Q fans this summer, including Chuck Klosterman (I Wear the Black Hat), David Sedaris (Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls) and Lionel Shriver (Big Brother). See all 12 picks here.
The CBC Arts reporters shared their top summer reading picks. Eli Glasner's choices included spy thriller A Delicate Truth by John le Carré and Jelena Adzic thinks you can't travel anywhere without packing Everything Is Perfect When You're a Liar by Kelly Oxford. Check out all the selections here.
You can't forget about the kids in your life -- they need good reads this summer, too! The Next Chapter put together their annual children's literature panel to pick the eight must-have books for the kids in your life, from stunning picture books to stellar YA stories. See the full list here.
If you are a mystery fan, The Next Chapter's list of must-read mysteries this summer is a, well, must-read! Their panel of mystery lovers picked the best thrillers to check out this summer, from established names like Robert Rotenberg to up and comers like Alex Gray. See the complete list here.
This July, CBC Kids launched a brand-new show all about books! Bookaboo is a rock puppy who needs "a story a day or he just can't play." Bookaboo airs on CBC-TV every weekday at 10 a.m. and their literary line-up is stellar -- your kids will want to add all 25 books Bookaboo reads this season to their library. See the complete list here.
CBC Live got the stars of the best mystery television show around to share their favourite mystery books. Yannick Bisson is a fan of Ted Bell and Jonny Harris enjoys curling up with Stephen King. See all their choices here.
Day 6 turned to their book columnist Becky Toyne for their summer reads. She picked six buzzy books including Five Star Billionaire by Tash Aw and The Dinner by Herman Koch. See Becky's full list here.
