On Friday, October 26, 2012, Andrew Westoll took part in the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction Spotlight at the International Festival of Authors in Toronto. He won the 2012 Charles Taylor Prize for his book The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary, which chronicles the 10 weeks he spent working as a volunteer caregiver at the chimp refuge, the Fauna Sanctuary, in Quebec.

Westoll discussed what it was like to be a new volunteer and read a passage from his award-winning book. You can watch highlights in the video player above.
