National Poetry Month at CBC Books

April is National Poetry Month, and CBC Books will be getting into the lyrical swing of things with a number of special features over the coming weeks. Each week, we'll highlight one of the spring season's notable new collections, with a Q&A with the author and a sample poem from the book. We'll also look at this year's finalists for the Griffin Poetry Prize, to be announced on April 10.

Over at Canada Writes, we'll be offering poetry writing tips, interviewing poets and more. Don't forget about the CBC Poetry Prize, where original, unpublished work has a chance to be published in enRoute magazine and win $6,000.

We're also celebrating with a special Spring Collections contest. We're giving away one grand prize of a Sony Reader™ Digital Book and a prize pack of three poetry books, and two additional prize packs of three poetry books.

To enter, all you have to do is tell us what your all-time favourite book of poetry is and why in the comments below. We'll pull the winners in a random draw. The deadline for entry is Sunday, April 29, at midnight ET. Winners will be announced on April 30. The complete rules and regulations are here. Good luck!
