Live Chat: The GG winners in fiction and non-fictionPatrick deWitt and Charles Foran are among the winners of the 75th Governor General's Literary Awards, which were announced at a press conference in Toronto on Tuesday. Foran won the English-language non-fiction prize for Mordecai: The Life & Times, a critically acclaimed biography of Montreal writer Mordecai Richler, which also took this year's Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize and the Charles Taylor Prize. DeWitt won the English-language fiction award for The Sisters Brothers, his novel about two outlaw siblings in the era of the California Gold Rush. The Sisters Brothers recently picked up the Rogers Writers' Trust Award and was a contender for this year's Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Man Booker Prize. Each winner receives $25,000 and a specially bound copy of his or her book. The other finalists in each category receive $1,000 each.
