Man mobbed, stabbed and robbed while walking alone on James North
A group of as many as 10 people robbed and apparently stabbed a man walking by himself by LIUNA Station Wednesday night, police say. And investigators have released photos.
The man was walking around James Street North and Strachan Street East at about 10:20 p.m.
A group of "six to 10 people" approached him, police say, and surrounded him.
They pushed, punched and kicked him until he was unconscious, Hamilton police said in a statement. When he woke up, he had "a serious stab wound" and some of his property was missing.
Police want to hear from anyone with information, or who recognizes the suspects in the photos. Call Det. Marshall or Det. Hluska at 905-546-3817 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
