Ingredients:
4 eggs
2/3 cup (150 mL) milk
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
1 pinch salt
8 thick slices white bread
1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 oz (113 g) sliced smoked turkey
4 oz (113 g) sliced Black Forest ham
1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetabIe oil
1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
Preparation:
In large shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, pepper and salt.
Spread 4 of the slices of bread with mustard; sandwich cheese, turkey and ham with remaining bread. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, turning to soak well.
In large nonstick skillet, heat oil and butter over medium heat; cook sandwiches, turning once, until crusty and browned and cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
