Get out the fondue pot and make this fancy dessert that's perfect for date night.
1 cup (250 mL) bite-size peeled pineapple chunks
1 navel orange, peeled and cut into segments
2 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
1 Red Delicious apple, cored and sliced
6 cookies (optional)
1/3 cup (75 mL) whipping cream
3 oz (90 g) bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 oz (60 g) milk chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp (15 mL) amaretto, brandy or rum
Cape gooseberries or sliced bananas
Chocolate Fondue: In saucepan, heat cream until boiling. Pour over bittersweet and milk chocolates in fondue pot; whisk until melted. Whisk in amaretto. Keep warm.
Meanwhile, arrange pineapple, orange, kiwifruit, apple, and cookies (if using) on platter.
Garnish with gooseberries (if using). Serve with fondue.
For best flavour and texture, use quality chocolate.
