Episode 8: Small town tales with Brent Butt
Today on Being Jann, Jann shares her favourite memories of growing up in Springbank, Alberta - like how she managed to fail her high school's mandatory curling class.
Comedian and proud Saskatchewanite Brent Butt tells us about his unintentionally hilarious mom, the worst thing he ever did to a sibling, and performing "Nothing Rhymes with Saskatchewan" for a befuddled Queen Elizabeth.
Jann reveals why it's so embarassing shopping at Costco with her dad.
And in another edition of "Family Faceoff," a Being Jann listener calls in with a story that proves her dad is much, much wackier than Papa Arden.
And here's this week's playlist:
The Decemberists - "Down By the Water"
Bob Kemmis - "Late Night Advice"
k.d. lang - "Western Stars"
Arcade Fire - "Modern Man"
Sidney York - "Dick & Jane"
Kim Stockwood - "Back to the Water"

Episode 7: Aging gracefully with Gordon Pinsent
Today on Being Jann, lessons in getting older - and aging gracefully - from legendary Canadian actor, Mr. Gordon Pinsent.
First up, Jann tells us what she learned from her own great-grandparents about living life to the fullest (hint: it involves lots of cigarettes and large-font romance novels).
In a feature interview with Gordon Pinsent, Jann discovers what keeps the 81-year old young-at-heart. He tells Jann about his recent musical collaboration with Blue Rodeo, and the joke that got him into trouble with actress Julie Christie.
Jann then accosts some strangers on the streets of Calgary to ask, "If you could Tweet your own obituary, what would it be?"
Up-and-coming Calgary musician Elise Roller pops by with her keyboard in tow, and talks about her day job: cleaning the apartments of senior citizens. She performs a song inspired by those experiences, live in the Being Jann studio.
Jann takes your Twitter questions, live on air, with another round of "Ask Me Anything!"

Episode 6: Wedding shenanigans with Michael Buble
Summer is wedding season, so Jann decides to have her very own bachelorette party on Being Jann today!
Taking her mic to the streets, Jann asks people to share their funniest - and most disastrous - wedding memories.
Canadian crooner Michael Buble tells Jann what REALLY happened during his recent nuptials to Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato....like the wrestling match that broke out during the reception. And in a game of rapid-fire questions, Michael tells us about his pet budgie, the one thing he'd never sell, and why his dad is the nerdiest man alive.
In another heartwarming tale from the life of Jann Arden, she talks about the day a bar room brawl nearly ended her short-lived career as a singing-waitress.
Jann and her hairdresser Jason Pierce offer up relationship and hair advice in another edition of "What Would Jann Do?"
The president of the Jann and Midi Fan Club of Rhode Island, Louise Del Santo, updates Jann on her Latvian fan base, and tells us the best piece of advice she got on her wedding day 40 years ago.
