A fellow patient of Dr. Tom's, Adam entered Erica's life in Season Three when she started group therapy. Adam is handsome, rough, blue collar, and he quickly developed a strong connection with Erica. Sparks flew over the course of Season Three, as they challenged each other in therapy, and finally admitted their true feelings for one another. Is Erica and Adam's relationship one that can stand the test of time?
Born and raised in Drogheda, a town 40 miles north of Dublin, he studied economics and politics at the University College Dublin, where he graduated with an Honours degree before attending the Gaiety School of Acting. Most of Adam's early acting career was spent on the stages of Dublin, London and Edinburgh.
He received critical acclaim for his performances in Les Liaisons Dangereuses and as Pip in Great Expectations but it was his role as Con in Brian Friel's The Home Place alongside Tom Courtenay that brought him to London's West End. The play was a huge success winning best new play at The Evening Standard Awards in 2005. He spent the next 5 years back and forth from London to Dublin working in TV and film. He starred opposite James Mc Avoy and Romola Garai in Inside I'm Dancing (Rory O' Shea Was Here - US title) and played the lead role in the RTE TV series, Trouble In Paradise. He got yet more notoriety for his award-winning role in the Indy hit, Satellites & Meteorites.
Last year Adam shot a guest lead in the new series, XIII, opposite Stuart Townsend which airs on Canada's Showcase and on Canal Plus in France. During the winter he was back working with Satellites & Meteorites director Rick Larkin on his new feature, Dublin In Pieces.
