Ma Murray's Place

Feisty Margaret "Ma" Murray founded this paper with her husband George in 1933 at Lillooet. Her daughter called Ma, "Part ham and part crusader." They later headed north to launch the Alaska Highway News. Despite poor grammar and creative spelling, she worked in the field for 65 years.

32nd annual Terry Fox Run for cancer research


This Sunday 112 communities in B.C. will host Terry Fox runs. The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $600 million for cancer research since his Marathon of Hope in 1980.  "Even if I don't finish, we need others to continue. It's got to keep going without me." - Terry Fox

VanDusen Bloom Gala


I'll be co-hosting the VanDusen Bloom Gala on September 13th with Gloria Macarenko. Brian Minter is also the floral consultant for this evening that will feature great food, entertainment and silent auction in the stunning "Living Building' visitor centre.

Public art fit for the Queen Elizabeth



Campbell River artist Cameron Kerr has 5 new sculptures on display at Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza. Part of the Vancouver 125 celebration, they're sculpted from huge blocks of marble and granite.
