Happy 150th Birthday Barkerville

Listener Barry Curtis is excited about the 150th anniversary of Barkerville, and created this Billy Barker cartoon. Barker struck it rich in 1862, extending the frenzied gold rush deep into the Cariboo.  The historic town's new season begins May 17th -- with special events planned all year long. The high price of gold has also triggered new exploration and mines in the region.
