Fraser River sockeye opening

Sockeye is coming to a late near you. The first commercial opening on Fraser River sockeye is happening tomorrow. Runs are also stronger than expected on the Central Coast, where the first fishery is about 15 years was conducted. Barclay Sound and Skeena runs are looking good too. The total Fraser River run is expected to be between 3 and 4 million -- nothing like last year's historic high of 30 million sockeye.
