Today, there are new pressures and expectations on high school students applying to university.

This is a topic that matters to me as a student pursuing a post-secondary education. The pressure has intensified and it's become more important to me in recent years.

Now more than ever, you need a university degree or some other form of post-secondary education to get a good job.

But in order to get into even college or university, students have to struggle to put together comprehensive and detailed supplemental applications to support their transcripts and prove they are well-rounded individuals. This means in addition to focusing on their academics, students are spending their spare time playing sports, volunteering or learning musical instruments.

I spoke with two high school students and a high school counsellor to get their thoughts on the topic.
