30 student reporters. One mission: tell their stories their way on Nov. 18

The competition was fierce! Over 120 students from across Metro Vancouver auditioned for a top spot in the Final 30. They pitched unique and newsworthy story ideas that matter to them, that affect their communities and themselves.

Armed with the latest multimedia technologies the Final 30 are hitting the streets gathering the material they need to have their voices heard.

On Thursday Nov. 18 you'll see and hear these student reporters give it all they've got as a full day of wall-to-wall coverage is unleashed on CBC television, radio, web, and for the first time as part of a special partnership, in the Vancouver Sun.

All students in grades 10 - 12 from across metro Vancouver are invited. Meet CBC personalities and learn all about News Day in BC. Sign up here to attend one of these workshops held at the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre, 700 Hamilton St.

Saturday, September 25
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 26
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

After you complete the online form, and download the parent consent form we will send you a confirmation email.

This is also your chance to tell us about the stories that matter to you. Tell us about the news that impacts your life, your community. This could be the story you ultimately get to report on if you make it to the Final 30!

*CBC News cameras will be present for these workshops therefore you must bring the signed parent consent form to your workshop.

*Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your workshop and check-in with front desk security.
